Google Apps For Education (GAFE) is a comprehensive and powerful suite of applications which can be used on any computer or tablet with an internet connection running any operating system.  While Google's Chrome browser might be the "favored" browser of GAFE, you should be able to use any recent version of any web browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari.  That means faculty and students can access work created and/or stored on their Google Drive anywhere or any time.

If you are having problems using Google Apps, one of the first things to check is the version of the web browser you are using. Since web browsers are updating constantly, Google's policy is to support the most recent version and the two most recent versions.  For more information on browser support in Google, please visit http://support.google.com/a/answer/33864?hl=en.  Not sure which version of the browser you are running?  On a Windows machine while running the browser, click on the Help menu and then "About.... <browser name>"  On an Apple computer, click on the name of the program on the top menu bar and then select "About.... <browser name>."
